On Monday Night we held our business welcome evening.
Open to local businesses and our local suppliers. We wanted to show our suppliers and other guests our new restaurant and to show who/what we are offering our customers.
It was fantastic to meet lots of new faces and potential business collaborations. Lots of events and collaborations in the planning already.
We had a great evening and received really positive feedback from all our guests. Everyone loved the new restaurant and are excited to see the success of our St Andrews restaurant (hopefully) brought over to Dundee.
We were very graciously supplied goods from our suppliers to create a beautiful display of all our locally sourced products. Clarks bakery very generously donated mini filled rolls, wraps, Dundee cake and also various assortments of breads. All of which they make themselves - and were extremely tasty. These were a huge hit with our guests on the night.
Ogilvy Vodka created a great display showing us how they make their vodka and what makes them different to the norm. We also had samples of their amazing perfect pour cocktails to hand round! We love any opportunity to have a cocktail or 2, wether thats to celebrate the end of the week or the end of the day, Ogilvy Perfect Pours are fab- highly recommend you try one the next time your in.
Raith Fruit also donated this HUGE, fruit basket.
Full of wonderful, fresh, exotic fruit. We will use all of this fruit in dishes on our menus. Creating different chutneys, salads and experimenting with garnishes for our cocktails and gins. This was a beautiful gift from Raith, their produce is always amazing!!
We also had a little botanical bar set up using Eden Mill Gin.
Allowing guests to make their own flavours in the gin. This showcased how our use of various garnishes and different combinations of garnishes in each of the gins can bring out different flavours and how we can tailor the garnishes to compliment the dishes on our menu.
Of course we want to show off our own specialities!
Our chefs created canapés ranging from crayfish cocktail, bruchetta , arancini, cheesecake, chocolate brownies and lime panna cotta which luckily all went down very well over the evening.
Thank you so much to everyone who made it along. It was lovely to meet so many new faces and catch up with some old friends.
Tailend Dundee is now completely open and we look forward to welcoming many more of you through our shiny, new doors.

Hurray!!! After years of hard work and renovation, we have finally opened our doors to the public!
After taking over from the Deep Sea, and knowing how close the people of Dundee still felt with the building, we wanted to make sure everything was perfect before we officially opened.
We have turned the downstairs 'basement' into a beautiful, bespoke restaurant. We have gorgeous booths, bar seats and private dining all designed to feel cosy and comfortable but with an industrial theme. We have lots of steel and wood throughout the restaurant and this is also mirrored in our take away up the stairs.
This was a huge project to undertake but we feel it has 100% paid off and it looks fantastic! (if we do say so ourselves)
We have also installed a lift down to the restaurant so no need to miss out because of wheelchairs, prams or even if you just struggle with stairs.
At Tailend we are more than just Fish and Chips. We take great pride in using locally sourced seasonal produce and work with many local, independent suppliers.
All our fish is sourced from our own fish house based in Arbroath G&A Spink Fish Merchants, so we have only the best, fresh fish delivered Monday- Saturday.
We also stock from Clarks Butchery, Eden Mill, Thistly Cross- soon to be Verdant Spirits.
Our Take Away has been building a great repertoire with our customers and its brilliant to see how enthusiastic and thrilled everyone is to see us open and we already have a few regulars. Of course it would be great to see the same in the restaurant, down stairs. We are centrally located, just across from the Overgate shopping centre.
We have changed our menu slightly from our traditional one in St Andrews as we do not have a fresh fish counter in Dundee. So we have created dishes with fish that we know we can have delivered on a regular basis. We do also have a specials board, like in St Andrews but just not the same quantity. We also have a lunch menu and a dinner menu, but don't worry if you would prefer something from the lunch menu our chefs will be more than happy to look after you.
Our new evening menu has delicious new dishes such as crab spring rolls w' Sticky Soy Sauce, Grilled Seabass w' crushed potatoes, samphire & sauce vierge and Beetroot Risotto served w' golden beets & smoked ricotta- Amazing!!!
our lunch menu offers tasty delights such as fish finger sub served w' jalapeños & sriracha mayo, house fishcakes w' salad & homemade tartare sauce & a massive customer favourite, the Tailend beef burger w homemade relish & onion rings - Super Tasty!!
Our bar is also fully stocked with local brands such as Eden Mill, Spiced Matter Rum, Ogilivy Vodka, Thistly Cross, Polozzi and many many beautiful wines! We are sure we have something for everyone and our drink list has been designed with our menu in mind, so we have pairings for everything - just ask your server for their suggestions.

After months of planning and waiting on the correct signatures, we finally opened our doors to the public on Wednesday 23rd of November.
We have been renovating the old 'Deep Sea' Restaurant & Take Away for the past 2 years, while the restaurant is set to open Jan 2017, we couldn't wait any longer and opened the Take Away at lunchtime on Wednesday.
We were thrilled with the response we received and everyone that has come into Tailend seems to be just as excited as we are!
We are aware of how much everyone loved the Deep Sea and we were keen to pay homage to the heritage of the building. So we have kept some of the old deep sea favourites on the menu, such as Spam Fritters, Red Pudding & Mince Pies created with a few Tailend twists!
We have our popular Tacos on our menu and we recommend your try our salmon taco w' guacamole, mango puree and chilli - Delicious.
